Pathogenic moon

I didn’t want to disturb you
So I got up and walked
the midnight decks of the house.
Around me
shadows and creaking joists.
Children sleeping
 the rise and fall of
soft breaths
Outside
the owls sing
to the stars
of  birth and death.

The town below
rigid in lock down
far away
Full of ghosts
Memories of coffee cups
Hugs and kisses
Smiles and laughter
Dreams of simple things

Night breeze
Under the pathogen Moon
Shiver-silver
tangled shadow-shine
in end of an era air.
Now
Everything has changed
Our parents paradigm has gone
Nothing now will be the same

I slip back
curled beside you
feel your warmth
In this cold
Emerging
Viral dawn
