Time

Nothing can

protect you

but  love.

the day slips

 the sun rolls

Toward the hills,

warm light spills

on the kitchen wall,

in the distance laughter,

calls

Outside the slow

pacing clouds,

Precipitate,

petrichor

 fills the air.

Chin on hand

From the longing window

Stare at the passing shower

And Wait and Wonder.

At the passing  hour

Time is a fly

Bone idle buzzing,

against the pain

My pain and yours

But love, love

close

And in separation

 knows Nothing

Of  truth or what is true

But it alone has the power

To heal me and you.
